“In about two years to come, some manufacturing companies would ‘spring up’ from Ogbomoso and this will ultimately reduce the lingering unemployment that is currently posing problems on our youths.”

According to him, the beleaguered Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso would regain its lost glory as efforts were ongoing to return normalcy to the institution.
Alhaji Sanni, who was re-elected as the chairman of the organisation at the event, explained that LAUTECH began to experience a difficult time when one of the owner-states, Osun, could not fulfil its financial responsibility to the institution. According to him, the OCF has a strategic committee on LAUTECH issue and it is working modalities to find a lasting solution to the institution’s current crises.
Alhaji Sanni said: “There was relative peace at LAUTECH until one of the co-owners could not meet up with its financial commitment to the institution. We are working on how to save LAUTECH, our pride, from the challenges that currently affect it negatively. OCF has a strategic committee, comprising eminent people all over Oyo state, on LAUTECH. This committee will work out modalities that will proffer lasting solutions to the institution’s crises.”
Still talking on higher institutions, the chairman expressed confidence that a federal polytechnic and another private university would be established and that these would commence operation in Ogbomoso soonest.
Quoting him: “There is an approved Federal Polytechnic, Ayede which only awaits the presidential accent and this will improve the economy of the city when it fully begins operation. This federal institution will, no doubt, improve the city’s economy and provide employment opportunities for youth. Apart from that, there will be a private university to be situated in Ogbomoso. This, and many others will go a long way in improving the economic strength and buoyancy of Ogbomoso,” he said.
