Head of Corporate Communications of the company, Oyebode Fadipe, made the declaration on Wednesday in Keffi, when members of the Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists paid the regional office of the company a courtesy visit.
According to Fadipe, once a customer has been disconnected due to none payment of bills, such a customer would no longer be charged for unused power until reconnection takes place.
He explained that customers confronted with such situation should formally lunch a complaint to the company for proper resolution.
The communication boss of the company, also stated that customers are not expected to pay for electrical instruments which supply power to their homes.
“It is wrong for customers to pay for electrical instruments such as transformers, electrical cable and so on. It is the duty of the company to provide that, any customer paying for such is doing so on his own because it is not official”, he said.
Also speaking, the regional manager of the company, Ameen Shakur, said the reason for inconsistent power in the state is as a result of low megawatts allocated to the state.
He explained that Nasarawa requires 135 megawatts but is currently using 50 megawatts, hence, the poor power outage in the state.
