The Movement, in a message of solidarity endorsed by its Chairman, Hon. Ayodele Oni, the Leader, Hon. Biola Olaseinde, and its Publicity Secretary, Hon. Gabriel Olusuyi (Zorro), said that it was backing Eleka for the sake of equity and justice.
According to the group, fair play and justice demand that Ekiti South should produce the next governor of the state through the July 14 election.
The EMG said that it has been involved in advocacy for good governance in Ekiti, sensitizing the electorate on the importance of voting for the right candidate in the election.

It said that Eleka met the criteria for governor as drawn up at a recent general meeting of the Ekiti Eminent Movement Group to include experience and exposures to harness the vast human and material resources of the state, first-hand knowledge of the people, problems and potentials of Ekiti, and lack of scandals, it said the next governor must come from Ekiti South having not produced a governor since the inception of the state several decades ago.
The group added: “Consequently, in the best interest of Ekiti and the advancement of democracy, we support the candidature of Prof. Olusola Eleka, the PDP candidate.
“This group will intensify advocacy for Ekiti people to vote for Prof. Olusola Eleka. Henceforth, all members, especially the Youth Wing in all the 16 local government areas of the state, will work, in collaboration with the PDP, to make the gains of having Prof. Olusola Eleka as the next governor known to Ekiti people before the election.”
