Eid-el-Kabir: Bauchi Speaker calls for more sacrifices to overcome challenges facing nationhood

Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly has called on Nigerians to be ready to make more sacrifices that will lead to overcoming the myriad of challenges facing the country’s nationhood.

The Speaker also felicitated with Muslims in Bauchi State and the Country at large as they join other Muslims all over the world to celebrate this year’s eid-el-Kabir.

In a goodwill message, on Sallah day, the Speaker who is also the Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, described the holy festive period as a turning point to all Muslims all over the world as they perform the rite of animal sacrifices as commanded by the Almighty Allah.

According to him, the animal sacrifices made during the period demonstrate total submission and obedience to the commandments and will of Almighty Allah and his beloved prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him).

The Speaker said that “This is a very important period to all Muslims as we perform Hajj and make animal sacrifices, help the needy and visit our friends and families to exchange pleasantries.”

He also said, “We should use this holy period to show more commitment, faithful and total obedience to Almighty Allah as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) who offered to make self-sacrifice to obey the command of the Almighty Allah. We should show love to one another and offer helping hands to neighbours and the needy.”

According to him, “This year’s eid-el-Kabir comes at the time when our dear nation is trying hard to overcome some national challenges threatening our development and unity. The COVID-19 pandemic is still spreading, insurgency, kidnapping, banditry and other forms of violence are some great threats to the peace and development of the country.”

Abubakar Suleiman said, “While I commend the government for working hard to secure the country and overcome all our national challenges, I enjoin all Nigerians to make more sacrifices toward solving these problems and national growth and development in order to complement the effort of the government.”

“Leaders should be supported through prayers, support and encouragement so that Almighty Allah will give them the wisdom to lead the people efficiently, secure the country and bring developments,” He said.

The Speaker also commended the Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammad for ensuring that peace and stability reign in Bauchi State.

He noted that for the past two years the governor has shown an uncommon spirit of patriotism and exceptional leadership qualities by transforming the State in all sectors of human endeavour in which everywhere in the state wears new look and peace reigns.

Abubakar Y Suleiman commended the patriotism of the Members of the Bauchi State House of Assembly who provided the atmosphere for the development and peace in the State, assuring them of his continued loyalty and purposeful leadership.

The Speaker then assured the people of the state that all the arms of government in the state will continue to work in synergy for the development of the state as contained in a statement by Abdul Ahmad Burra, Spokesperson to the Speaker, Bauchi State House of Assembly.
