LESS than one week after the resignation of Edo State Commissioner of Communication and Orientation, Mr Paul Ohonbamu, the Vice Chairman of Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo, Mrs Maureen Ekharagbon has quit.
Citing administrative, political and governance grounds as politics and governance are inextricably connected, Mrs Ekharagbon, however, said that she was deeply grateful to (APC) under which platform she was elected
A close source however disclosed that the ex-vice chairman tabled her resignation so as to be able to fully work for the victory of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, an APC governorship aspirant.

In a letter dated June 10, 2020, a copy of which was sent to Governor Godwin Obaseki, the Local Government Commission and the All Progressives Congress (APC), she wrote: “I want to use this opportunity to thank Governor Godwin Obaseki for the opportunity to serve and also the Chairman of the Council, Mr Scott Ogbemudia.”
Her resignation also comes on the heels of the resignation of Mr Taiwo Akerele, the Chief of Staff to the governor, Mr Taiwo Akerele and Mrs Emike Obaze, a Senior Special Assistant to the governor.
Ahead of the ruling party governorship primary in the state which comes up on June 22, the APC is presently enmeshed in a deep crisis as the feuding factions have not been able to resolve their differences.
