Easter: Stop killings in Plateau, Benue, Methodist prelate appeals to FG

The Prelate of the Methodist Church Nigeria, His Eminence Dr. Oliver Ali-Aba, has called on President Tinubu to take decisive action to stop the killings of Nigerians in Plateau and Benue States.

The Prelate made this appeal while delivering his Easter message to Nigerians at Trinity Methodist Church, Tinubu, Lagos Island, on Sunday.

The Prelate, an indigene of Benue State, decried the continuous killings in Plateau and Benue, saying that the situation is not palatable and needs urgent attention to stop the killings.

He added that over a hundred persons were recently killed in a community in Benue State, and dozens of others in Plateau State.

He advised Nigerians to take the issue of insecurity very seriously by reporting any suspicious movement of criminals in their communities to the security agencies. He urged Nigerians not to leave the issue of insecurity to the security agencies alone.

He further stressed that Nigerians should continue to pray for the country, which is currently undergoing security and economic challenges. However, he advised Nigerians not to lose hope in God, who can change the situation for the better.
