Easter: Rely on God, Kwara Anglican bishop urges Nigerians

Bishop of the Diocese of Kwara Anglican Communion, Right Reverend Timothy Adewole, has urged the nation to rely absolutely on God given the current economic situation in the country.

Speaking with journalists after Easter service at the Cathedral of St. Barnabas, Sabo-Oke, Ilorin, Kwara State on Sunday, the bishop said, “When they rely on God, things will work well for us.”.

The cleric also advised people to strive and sacrifice their time and treasure for others, especially during this time.

“Everybody should try as much as possible to sacrifice so that the others will be at peace. Sacrifice is very important at this time around. Sacrifice everything—your time, your talent, your treasure”, he said

Earlier in his sermon, titled Implications of the Christ Resurrection, he noted that the resurrection of Jesus is not a fiction but a reality, saying that it brought salvation and healing.

He also stressed the need to trust and develop faith in God and come to Him when things are good or bad.

Bishop Adewole also kicked against preaching Christ without Christ, salvation without sanctification, decision without discipleship, love without lordship, prosperity without purpose, blessing without birthright, and revival without reformation.
