Easter celebration: Lawmaker urges Nigerians to shun crime

Gbolahan Yishawu
As Christians all over the world celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ,  a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Gbolahan Yishawu representing Eti-Osa constituency 02 has urged Nigerians to shun crime and embrace harmony.
He disclosed this on Sunday in his Easter message to residents of Lagos and his constituents in particular.
The lawmaker said that there was a need to work together with the present administration to take the country to the next level.
According to him, “let us shun violence and live a life that promotes peace and tranquillity.
“There is a need for us to emulate Christ Jesus who laid down his life on the cross of Calvary to bring redemption.
” If He could do that for humanity, we also must be of help to everyone in our neighbourhood.”
The lawmaker said that the celebration of the resurrection Jesus Christ should be a time for reflection and time for selfless service.
Hon. Yishawu appealed to Lagosians and his constituents to support the fight against crime and insecurity by the present government.
“The State and Federal Governments cannot do it without the support of the traditional rulers, community leaders and the entire citizens.
“Let’s work together to move  Nigeria to the next level for all. I wish Lagosians and my people in Eti-Osa Constituency 02 happy Easter celebration and I pray for good health and peace for them in all our ramifications,” he said.
