The Speaker announced this during a plenary session of the Kaduna House of Assembly on Wednesday.
He said, “My dear colleagues, I have received two letters from two honourable members indicating that they have defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC), to another party.
“Honorable colleagues, we are all elected under the platform of APC and since there is no crisis in the party both at the state and national level in accordance with the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I hereby declare the two seats vacant.

He said “the two affected lawmakers are John Audu Kwaturu representing Kachia constituency and Junaidu Yakubu representing Kudan constituency.
It will be recalled that the Kwaturu resigned his position as deputy speaker on Tuesday having earlier announced his defection from the ruling APC to PDP, while Yakubu also announced his defection from APC to PDP.
However, at the time of filling this report both the affected lawmakers could not be reached as they were both conspicuously absent during the sitting.
Meanwhile, a new deputy speaker was elected after the resignation of the former deputy Speaker, Audu Kwaturu on Tuesday.
The new deputy speaker of the Kaduna House of Assembly is Deacon Nuhu Goro Shadalafiya representing Kagarko constituency. He has since been sworn in by the Speaker Aminu Shagali.
