CSR: Zenith Bank, International Breweries, others win sustainability awards

Zenith Bank Plc, International Breweries Plc, NNPC Foundation, and others have emerged as the latest recipients of the SERAS Award, in Lagos.

While Zenith Bank Plc emerged the overall Best Responsible Corporate Organisation in Africa ahead of NNPC Foundation, International Breweries Plc, and Nasper and Prosus, came second, third, and fourth, respectively.

The Executive Director of the SERAS Africa Sustainability Awards, Mary Ephraim-Egbas noted that the award, which began 18 years ago, had led to the transformative journey of initiatives,  shaping communities and inspiring a shared resolve to actualise the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.

She described this year’s edition of the Award as remarkable, since it recorded an unprecedented 256 entries, with 41 organisations participating for the first time.

The Lead Convener, SERAS, Ken Egbas, affirmed that many organisations had demonstrated exemplary leadership, creativity, and a commitment to sustainable development considering the level of investment witnessed in the last 12 months.

He believed the contributions of the winners would always remain invaluable to sustainable development in Africa.
