Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State yesterday said that the state has the capacity to treat any victim of COVID-19 virus.
Ortom stated this while speaking with newsmen on the new cases released by the Nigerian Center for Disease Control (NCDC) on Wednesday.
The governor said that with the two new cases, Benue now has seven COVID-19 cases.
While stating that that.he was yet to be briefed by the Chairman, State Action Committee on COVID-19, Engr. Benson Abounu on the new case in the state, Ortom said that there was no cause for alarm.

According to the governor, “six cases were recorded before now in the state, three had been discharged, one absconded back to Kano where he came from and one had just tested negative and would be discharged any moment from now.
“It is only one patient that is left at the isolation centre except there are other new cases.
“I am still appealing to people of the state to remain calm as the state action Committee on COVID-19 headed by my deputy is on top of the situation and would continue to respond positively to the coronavirus pandemic until the fight is over.
“We must collectively battle this fight together and ensure that the protocols set out by NCDC are observed”, the governor said.
