Nigerian artiste, Amodu Francis Eneojo, popularly known as Frannels, has lamented that COVID-19 and its aftershocks were threatening to wipe out decades of hard-earned progress in the fight against extreme poverty.
Frannels, who stated this during an interview with newsmen in Abuja, said the pandemic resulted in musicians remaining indoor and working tirelessly, especially during the lockdown with low on shows and events.
He described the situation as unfriendly for business, noting that the artists during the period were left to make music and spend time with families.
Speaking on how it affected his career as a musician and the entire entertainment industry in Nigeria, he noted that it boils down to show business, especially in Nigeria.
“It was crazy over here. Indoor and working tirelessly. Low on shows and events so we were left to make music and spend time with our family. Lovely for the person, but too bad for business,” he stated.
He then urged the Federal Government to be guided by conscience and do the right thing to minimize the hardship orchestrated by the pandemic as a way of lessening the hardship inflicted on the masses by the virus.
Frannels also appealed to the elite artiste to support those most affected by the pandemic.
