COVID-19: 12 suspected cases test negative in Ondo

Ondo State government on Monday said all the 12 suspected coronavirus cases in the state have tested negative, saying the state is still free from the COVID-19 pandemic, Nigerian Tribune reports.

This was disclosed after the meeting of the State Interministerial Committee on COVID-19 with Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.

The chairman of the Inter-Ministerial Committee and Commissioner for Health, Dr Wahab Adegbenro, while speaking
at a joint press conference with the commissioner for Information and Orientation, Donald Ojogo, however, reiterated that vigilance and strict adherence to global best practices were the only antidotes to avoid the spread of COVID-19.

Adegbenro said the state has remained negative to the coronavirus scourge including the alleged case at Agadagba-Obon in Ese Odo Local Government Area of the state.
