The Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan has vacated an existing interim injunction that had halted the election of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), which was scheduled to take place today at Ibadan House.
Previously, Justice Ladiran Akintola had ruled on an ex-parte motion by the Claimant/Applicant, Oloko Adeola Sulaiman, ordering the suspension of the election. However, on Friday, the Incorporated Trustees of the CCII sought to vacate this order.

A motion to vacate the existing order was filed at the same court presided over by Justice Akintola. In his ruling, Justice Akintola stated that he had been misled in granting the earlier order, noting that the court had not been informed that issues had been contested between the parties. Consequently, he lifted the injunction that had stopped the election.
Following this decision, the CCII has proceeded with the election at its Ibadan House located at One Aremo.”
