An Ogudu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Wednesday, ordered that a vagrant, Yinka Oluwafeyi, who pleaded guilty to stealing a cell phone in a church, be remanded in prison, pending sentencing.
The police charged Oluwafeyi, whose address was not given, with breaking and entry and stealing.
Magistrate E. Kubeinje, adjourned the case until April 3, for sentencing.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp Lucky Ihiehie, informed the court that on March 11, the accused broke into a Church at No 2, Anuoluwapo St., Kosofe in Mile 12.

He alleged that the accused, who pretended to be a worshiper, stole an Itel cell phone valued at N 26, 500 property of Joshua Adelusi.
Ihiehie told the court that the accused could not give a satisfactory answer as t how he came about the cell phone when arrested by the police.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened the provisions of sections 287 and 311 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
