A Grade I, Area Court, Mpape, Abuja on Monday ordered that a 36-year-old businessman, Mohammed Ibrahim, who allegedly stole 900 bags of cement, be remanded in prison custody, pending a police investigation.
Ibrahim, of Wuse II, Abuja is charged with two counts of joint act and theft.
The Judge, Malam Salihu Ibrahim, adjourned the case until July 9, to enable police to conclude investigations.

Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Mr H.S Ibrahim, told the court that the case was reported at the Mpape Police Station by Ezeanuwa Israel of No 5, Showroom International Building Materials Market, Deidei, Abuja.
Ibrahim said that on June 12, around Dutse Alhaji junction, Abuja, the defendant and one other, now at large, diverted a truck loaded with 900 bags of cement belonging to Igweka and co. based in Abuja.
The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of sections 79 and 287 of the Penal Code.
After the charges were read to him, the defendant pleaded not guilty.
