Idowu gave the warning on Sunday in Kuje in a sermon titled, “Don’t Pervert the Gospel” at a special annual programme of the church, loyalty month.
He said the unwillingness to endure sound doctrine and spiritual indiscipline were responsible for perverting the gospel among Christians.
The cleric said the wrong doctrine and believe of some churches in prosperity at the expense of salvation of their members was not in the interest of the gospel.
“Some churches today do not talk about sin and because of that, they cannot talk about repentance.”
“Sound doctrine is a balanced doctrine and the central point is that Jesus Christ is coming back again,” he said.
Idowu urged Christians to be watchful, prayerful and be ready to endure afflictions for them to be victorious in their Christianity race.
According to him, we must do the work of evangelist and Christians should always stand for the truth and not to join the multitude to do evil or pervert the gospel.
“As Christians, we must not live in the world as if it is going to end here, if that is how you have been living, you are perverting the gospel.”
“We must acknowledge the fact that Jesus Christ is coming as a judge and the judgment is either you are saved or you are condemned,” he warned.
