Tribune Online highlights federal government agencies that are currently recruiting new employees or conducting screening exercises for applicants across various sectors.

Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB)

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) is currently conducting screening for candidates who successfully passed its Computer-Based Test (CBT).

Tribune Online reports that the board, in a statement signed by its Secretary, A.M. Jibril, announced the commencement of the next phase of the 2024/2025 recruitment exercise.

Candidates who participated in the CBT held in November 2025 have been directed to visit the official recruitment portal between June 15 and June 20, 2026, to verify their application status and confirm whether they have been shortlisted for physical screening and document verification.

The exercise covers recruitment into the following agencies:

  • Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS)
  • Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)
  • Federal Fire Service (FFS)
  • Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS)

Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC)

The Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) has completed the application phase of its nationwide recruitment exercise for more than 70 vacancies across federal ministries and agencies, attracting a large number of applicants.

With the application window closed, candidates are awaiting the release of shortlisted names and the schedule for the Computer-Based Test (CBT), which forms part of the next stage of the recruitment process.

The Chairman of the FCSC, Prof. Tunji Olaopa, recently assured applicants that the CBT would be conducted soon.

In a statement personally signed by him, he attributed the delay in the exercise to logistical and resource-related issues, dismissing reports that the recruitment process had been compromised or that positions had already been filled.

Applicants have been advised to regularly monitor their profiles on the commission’s recruitment portal, as updates on shortlisting and subsequent stages of the exercise will be communicated through the platform in addition to other notification channels.

Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning

The Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning maintains a career portal through which qualified professionals can submit their curriculum vitae, application letters, and credentials for consideration when vacancies arise.

Important things to note

Federal Government recruitment exercises are free of charge. Applicants should not pay money for application forms, screening, shortlisting, or job placement.

Prospective candidates are advised to apply only through official government platforms and websites ending in .gov.ng to avoid falling victim to fraudsters and recruitment scams.
