Breaking: Osinbajo escapes as chopper crashes in Kabba

The chopper conveying vice president Yemi Osinbajo, to Kabba, Kogi state on Saturday crashed.

Although, the vice president escaped unhurt, the chopper was said to have crash-landed at the Kabba township stadium when its propellers suddenly pulled out.

The vice president’s chopper which was expected to land at Kabba township stadium a little after that of advance team landed experienced some hiccup when the propeller pulled out leading to pandemonium among party members that have gathered to welcome him.

The people watched helplessly as the chopper crash-landed and the occupants escaped unhurt as the vice president walked to a waiting car.

Osinbajo was in Kogi state to inaugurate the market moni scheme of the federal government and was billed to perform the assignment in Kabba, Okene and Idah.

The incident happened during a campaign tour of the state, for the Market-Moni launch, and also to visit royal fathers in Kabba, Okene, and Idah.

According to an aide of the Vice-President, he confirmed that the VP and everyone involved int he crash is okay.

Osinbajo, who is President Muhammadu Buhari’s running mate in the presidential elections scheduled to hold on February 16, 2019 has been going round the country for the distribution of N10, 000 to market women under the scheme.

However, after the incident, Osinbajo visited the Obaro of Kabba, Oba Solomon Owoniyi, in his palace in Kabba, where he confirmed the incident.

He later addressed some party supporters at St Augudtine ‘s college, Kabba, where he tasked them on the forthcoming election.
