BREAKING: Naira Marley appears in court, remanded in prison till May 30

Singer, Azeez Fashola, alias Naira Marley, Monday morning appeared in court and pleaded not guilty to the cyber fraud charges pressed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The mother of the singer, who could not control her emotions, bursted into tears as she sighted her son appearing at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos.

But the presiding Justice Nicholas Oweibo has ordered that Naira Marley be remanded in the prison custody, as he adjourned till May 30 to take the bail application filed by the defence counsel, Taiwo Oreagba, on behalf of his client.

Naira Marley had been arrested alongside his colleague, Zlatan Ibile, who later regained his freedom but Marley was held back after the EFCC said it found incriminating materials in his computer.

However, Naira Marley had pleaded not guilty to the cyber fraud charges pressed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
