The Benue State House of Assembly on Friday suspended four members for allegedly holding a clandestine meeting without the consent of the House and the approval of the Speaker, Hon. Hyacinth Dajoh.
The members were reported to have gathered at the Government House on Thursday and attempted to impeach the Speaker of the Assembly.
The suspended members are Alfred Aondoaver (Makurdi North State Constituency), Shimawua Emmanuel (Vandeikya II), Cyril Ikong (Oju II State Constituency), and Abu Umoru James (Apa State Constituency).
The Majority Leader of the House, Saater Tiseer, who moved the motion, said the affected members were trying to cause chaos in the House.
According to Tiseer, *“On Wednesday, 20 August 2025, the House, in the spirit of unity, passed a vote of confidence in the House leadership and the Governor of Benue State.
