VOLUNTEERING uncovers youths’ talents and gives them the instincts to rethink and seek the knowledge that employers are passionate about.
When you volunteer in organisations, you meet people who were previously in your shoes as fresh graduates. They know how best to solve your problem and can even serve as your mentors.
So many fresh graduates complain of unemployment; this has been the tone since day one. However, some unemployed graduates forget that their CVs are nothing but pieces of paper containing no convincing proof of capability to man a particular position in the industry.
Your CV needs a boost, and volunteering is a means to get it. Volunteering is like real time employment, which gives you the opportunity to detail different roles played during the process in your CVs. You need to know the unnecessary gaps that employers frown on in your CVs with the experiences garnered during your volunteering years.
Many would ask how to get companies needing volunteers. Many companies are online, especially Linkedin and Facebook, seeking volunteers in achieving some projects. Approach them and seal a deal that you will not forget.
If those skills are still not enough, combine online learning with volunteering. I bet you will laugh last and best.
