Bauchi Speaker lauds Govt House press crew over professionalism

Members of the Bauchi State Government House Press Crew have been lauded for their resilience, dedication to duty, and exhibition of professionalism in the performance of their functions.

The commendation was made by the Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Abubakar Y. Suleiman, while declaring open a two-day retreat for the Government House Press Crew, held in Kano on Sunday.

Abubakar Y. Suleiman used the occasion to call on the Press Crew members to remain focused on the new skills experts would teach them, in order to perform their duties more effectively.

He stressed that such improvements would help them catch up with the latest trends in journalism and enable the effective reporting of the activities of the State Governor, Sen. Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, for the public to appreciate.

The Speaker stated that during his tenure as Chairman of the Conference of Speakers, he had the opportunity to visit all Government Houses across the country, and that the Bauchi State Government House Press Crew remains the best in terms of performance.

Abubakar Suleiman then urged them to ensure that after the retreat, they return more vibrant and ready to perform even better than they had in the past.

Also speaking, the State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Hon. Usman Shehu Usman, commended the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado, for organizing the retreat at this important time of the administration.

He stressed that the retreat aligns with the Governor’s objective of achieving a new and functional Bauchi State through his MyBauchiStateAgenda, driven by vibrant information dissemination and public enlightenment.

According to him, in line with this vision, the Governor has embarked on revamping state-owned media organizations, Bauchi Radio Corporation and Bauchi State Television (BATV), by purchasing new and modern technological facilities for them.

He assured that the newly equipped stations would soon commence full transmission and would be received in neighboring states, thereby projecting the activities of the government to a wider audience.

There were also goodwill messages from the Director General of Media to the Kano State Government, Alh. Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, and the Senior Special Assistant to the Bauchi State Governor on New Media, Alh. Lawal Mu’azu.
