In an effort to ensure effective implementation of the objectives of the development goals in the state, Bauchi State office of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) has pledged to consider the inputs of stakeholders in the implementation of each of its projects.
The pledge was made by the Director General and Focal Person of the SDGs in the state, Maryam Garba Bagel at the opening ceremony of a 2-day workshop on the SDGs 3-year strategic development plan held in Bauchi disclosing that the workshop was organised in order to get the inputs of the participants so as to assist the state to meet the SDGs goals.

According to her, the workshop will also afford her the opportunity to orient the participants on the activities of the SDGs not only on implementation but tracking intervention based on the goals to achieve the desired objectives both in the public and private sectors.
Maryam Bagel said that “We are developing a 3-year strategic development plan on SDGs for the entire state, so we need the inputs of the participants that will assist our state to meet the SDGs goals.”
The SDGs DG added that ” This workshop brings relevant partners together from Civil Society Organisations, non-governmental organisations and desk officers from the 20 Local Government Areas of the state.”
The Director General, therefore, appealed to stakeholders to give their maximum support towards achieving the objectives of organising the workshop by deliberating on critical issues.
Stakeholders at the workshop reaffirmed their readiness to work with the Bauchi Office of the SDGs to achieve the goals of SDGs especially goals 3 and applauded Bauchi SDGs’ office for inviting key stakeholders to deliberate on the 3 Year Strategic Development Plan describing it as the first of its kind in the state.
The participants then suggested the involvement of the private sector in the monitoring of SDGs projects as it will go along way towards achieving the desired objectives.
