Authorities of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Osun on Thursday began the distribution of sensitive election materials for the State House of Assembly elections, scheduled to hold on Saturday.
Addressing representatives of political parties that witnessed the distribution of election materials to 30 local government councils and Area office at the premises of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Osogbo, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of INEC in Osun, Mr Olusegun Agbaje, assured that the commission was ready to conduct credible and acceptable poll.
He tasked political parties in the state to mobilise voters for the election exercise, stressing adding that the success of Saturday’s election should be of paramount to all the people in Osun.
According to Agbaje “we have enough materials for the poll. Ballot papers and result sheets are here. We will distribute to all local government areas now. We don’t have governorship election but we are ready for a hitch-free state assembly Elections on Saturday.”

“Vehicles conveying election materials are already receiving smart card readers in our office over there. They will move here and load the sensitive materials before heading to their various local government areas.”
“We are ready for the exercise. I will liaise with the head of the military men that will be on duty to ensure that their men will discharge their duties, and respect rights of the people in the election.”
“Elections will be conducted in the 26 State Constituencies in the state. Little challenges that we had in the last election have been addressed and we plead for the cooperation of all stakeholders,” Agbaje remarked.
