The ongoing All Progressives Congress State Congress has suffered setback in Oyo State.
A party source disclosed to Tribune Online that the APC Careraker/Extraodinary Convention Planning Committee has suspended the exercise, as a result of irregularities discovered in the documents for the exercise.
National Secretary of the party, Senator John James Akpanudoedehe, could not be reached for comments.
He neither picked his calls nor responded to text messages.
The party source who confirmed the development said the suspension became necessary to ensure credibility of the process leading to the emergence of new leaders in Oyo State.
“It has become necessary to suspend the ongoing State Congress exercise in Oyo State due to information regarding the forging of documents meant to conduct this exercise.
“The national chairman, has however ordered the Oyo State Congress Committee to return to the National Secretariat for further briefing,” the source said.
