TribuneOnline checks at Serkin Dawaki ward at about 10:51 discovered that youths within the area were smashing a car belonging to former commissioner for finance Ahmed Yusuf who is also from Jalingo local government area of Taraba.
Election materials were yet to arrive at the election venue at the time of the visit.
Serkin Daweki ward is where one of the APC governorship aspirants in Taraba state, Bar. Kabiru Dodo came from, while Ahmed Yusuf, is from Taraki A ward all from Jalingo local government area.
The youths were said to be angry with the appearance of the former commissioner who came to the ward at the time he was supposed to be monitoring the primary election at his ward in Turaki A.

When contacted, the APC governorship aspirant, Bar. Kabiru Dodo, accused Ahmed Yusuf of coming to cause crisis while the primary election was supposed to be ongoing at Serkin Dawaki ward.
According to Dodo, the 10 APC aspirants in Taraba state, on Saturday sat together and agreed that all those who are participating in the election should shun violence and be ready to embrace whoever wins at the end of the election.
Dodo further said the committee also warned that whoever that is found to have engaged in violence during the primary election will be disqualified from the governorship race, he said these were the reason why Yusuf has come to his ward to cause crisis for the committee to have a question mark over his candidature.
“What was Ahmed Yusuf’s reasons for coming to Serkin Dawaki ward at the time he was supposed to be participating in the election at his ward?”
“It’s a game he wants to play which I know, because I don’t have boys that will go to polling unit and fight anybody, I don’t engage anybody to fight nor destroy any vehicle anywhere during election, as you can see, I’m in my house, I refused to go out since morning and I put off my phones because I want the people to decide without my influence.”
While responding to the allegations, the former commissioner for finance Ahmed Yusuf said he was at Serkin Dawaki ward to supervise the ongoing primary election.
Yusuf said he’s one of the supervisors that were mandated to monitor the election process in the state.
“I went to the ward for supervision, I did not make trouble with anybody, the youths on their own decided to descend on me and destroyed my car, I left the venue quietly without making trouble with them and I thank God it was only my car that got damaged.”
As at the time of the report, TribuneOnline gathered that election materials were yet to be distributed to election areas while voters were still waiting for the election officials.
