
GOVERNOR Willie Obiano says it is important that APGA wins the upcoming November 18 Guber election to sustain efforts at promoting good governance in the state and keeping the Igbo agenda alive.
The Governor was speaking at St Mary’s Catholic Church, Maryland, Raukwu in Idemili North Council Area, during a Holy Mass held to raise funds for the Church projects.
Governor Obiano who noted that APGA is the only Igbo political party in the country, said its capacity towards initiating programmes that have a positive bearing on the lives of the people, has never been in doubt under his leadership.
The Governor listed some of the projects which his administration is undertaking in Oraukwu community to include reconstruction of Eke Oye market, Oraukwu Health Centre and Ibenabo to Abacha road, renovation of the Community Primary School among others, adding that his government has also appointed Oraukwu Indigenes into sensitive positions in his administration.
He urged Ndi Oraukwu to support his second term bid, promising that they will not be disappointed.
The Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, who is from the community, acknowledged that for what the Governor has done for the community, nothing will be enough to repay him except voting him in for a second term.
In a homily, the Auxiliary Bishop of Onitsha Catholic Arch Diocese, Most Reverend Dennis Isizor, harped on the need for members of the Catholic community to be equipped to participate in the upcoming election by getting their voters cards.
Welcoming everyone to the event, the traditional ruler of the community, Igwe Emeka Onuorah, attributed the numerous transformations ongoing across various sectors of the economy to the power of vision and character of the Governor, noting that citizens have a selfless leader in Governor Obiano.
