An Ibadan-based lawyer and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Niyi Akintola, (SAN) has vowed to show Governor Seyi Makinde an exit door in 2023 if he eventually gets its party governorship ticket.
Declaring his ambition to contest the 2023 governorship under the platform of APC in Ibadan Akintola disclosed that his style of politics is in tandem with that of the late Cicero of Esa Oke, Chief Bola Ige.
Akintola said his rising profile as a lawyer and seasoned politicians cum analyst would single him out as a preferred candidate for the party.
He added that he has all it takes to unseat the incumbent governor of the state, noting his flaws and the desire of the people of the state for a change in the leadership.
“What I did in 2018, nobody can tell me to do that again, I will not listen because Falcon would no longer hear Falconets. What I did in 2018, nobody dear tells me that now. I have been here since 1998,” Akintola noted.
“We have some leaders who expect you to come and kowtow in their houses to get political positions but I don’t belong to that class because Bola Ige didn’t teach me that way. He taught me to face my job. As a matter of fact, to us in the Progressives then, politics was not a profession, it was a mere occupation.”
