Ondo State governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, on Wednesday commiserated with the former Interim National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Bisi Akande, over the death of his wife.
This was contained in a statement issued and signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr Segun Ajiboye on behalf of the governor, describing the deceased as a disciplined, God-fearing and understanding woman who stood by her husband to record landmark successes in both private and public services.
The governor advised Akande family, the people of Osun State and Nigerians to take solace in the fact the deceased lived a good and fulfilled life, saying the late Mrs Omowunmi Akande will be missed by all those whose lives she touched in her walk through life.
The Chairman of the party in the state, Mr Ade Adetimehin expressed shock over the sudden death of the wife of Mrs Akande on Tuesday in a hospital in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Lamenting the death of Mrs Akande in Akure, Adetimehin described her as a woman of substance who stood by her husband through thick and thin.
Adetimehin “Mrs Akande is a loving mother who was supportive and accorded all political associates of her husband respect as well as political supporters. ‘She’s a companion of her husband, who played pivotal roles in ensuring he achieved his dreams and visions in life.
“Mama is hardworking, enterprising personality and philanthropist per excellence as she supported a lot of the underprivileged without making a noise about it. We will miss her a great deal.
“We commiserate with our leader, Chief Bisi Akade as we pray that God will give him and the family member the fortitude to bear the immeasurable loss.”
