Akeredolu encouraging investors’ friendly, economic viable environment

The Chairman /Managing Director of Step Development Limited, Engr. Aderemi Oseni has commended governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State for creating investors’ friendly and economic viable environment to support investors willing to impact on the state economy.

Oseni who stated this during the inauguration of a mega filling station, Northwest Petroleum, in Akure, Ondo State capital, said the present administration in the state has shown the zeal to partner with private investors to improve the economy of the state.

He also commended the Managing Director and owner of Northwest Petroleum, Mrs Winifred Akpani, for the investment in the state saying the mega station will go a long way to generate employment for the youths and yield a lot of economic activities for the state.

The Managing Director of Step Development who handled the project said, “the Northwest petroleum has blazed the trail in the state with the newly introduced high tech nozzles which can dispense 40 litres of fuel in a minute.”

Oseni said Northwest petroleum has shown determination to do business, taking advantage of the healthy economic climate in the state.

He said, “this project is unique because of the location and we got all the necessary support from the people around here. The people of the community are very hospitable and excited about the project. As a company, all the professional procedures for jobs of this nature were well observed.

“I am glad at the zeal of Mrs Akpani to impact on her immediate society. We are proud of what you have done and we look forward to the greater partnership in the future, we will continue to support you.”

While speaking, Akeredolu reiterated his administration commitment towards promoting an investor-friendly environment, saying this is one of the major ways to ensure the sustainable development of the state.

Akeredolu said the state government will always be willing to cooperate with the private investor to improve the economy of the state.

The governor noted that the establishment of the newly inaugurated mega filling station will help to take unemployed graduates from the streets, promote economic growth and reduce poverty.

He called on other private investors not to hesitate to visit and establish their businesses in the state, saying Ondo remains one of the peaceful states in the country.

He said ” we thank you for this project as it will help to take about 50 graduates out of unemployment.

“We thank you for believing in us and to join hands with us to improve the economy of the state. This investment will surely positively improve the economy of the state.

“Ondo State remains one of the most peaceful states in the state and the state government will always be ready to encourage the private investors. This is the beginning of a new relationship between the state and Northwest.”

Speaking, the Managing Director of Northwest Petroleum, Mrs Winifred Akpani, commended the efforts of the present administration in the state for encouraging economic development in the state.

Akpani said, “It was the friendly environment for investment that attracted North West Oil and Gas to the state. With the support we have so far, I have the rest of my mind that we are going to have a great impact on the community and contribute to the state economy.

She said, “With this investment, we have been able to create jobs for 50 fresh graduates. We can only say thank you to the people of the state, especially the governor for the encouragement.”
