Ajimobi pledges free food distribution

The Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, on Thursday disclosed that needy citizens across the 33 local government Areas of the state would benefit from the distribution of raw foods under the Ajumose Food Bank Programme of the Office of the Wife of Governor.

Ajimobi gave the assurance on Thursday, at Ibadan North Local Government, in continuation of the Ajumose Food Bank distribution programme, an initiative of his wife, Mrs Florence Ajimobi, aimed at reaching out to women, children and widows in the state.

Ajimobi assured the citizenry of the government’s commitment to guarantee their welfare and continued growth of the state in the face of dwindling revenue allocation and economic recession currently being experienced in the country.

Speaking at the event, Mrs Ajimobi said, “due to the state of the economy we decided to come to the aid of the people and the distribution will continue at the 33 local government areas of the state. This will see us travelling the length and breadth of the state, distributing raw food items to randomly selected beneficiaries and widows.”
