We are blessed with the gift of a leader in His Excellency, the governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde. With all sincerity of purpose, the governor has fulfilled almost all the promises he made to the electorate.
Be that as it may, I would like to use this avenue to call the attention of His Excellency to Ajia Road that extends to Adegbayi which is currently in bad shape. A lot of good will be done for the users of this road if the current situation is looked into. Before the rain started, there were potholes on the road that was under construction. This made movement of commercial and private vehicles very difficult. The stone base aggravated the situation. Motorists have suffered several losses to ruptured and punctured tyres and replacement of badly damaged motor parts. With the onset of rains, the potholes are now full of murky water and navigating what look like swimming pools becomes a battle for most drivers that ply the road.
If nothing is done, the whole road will be impassable and motorists will be compelled to for alternative roads. Pitiably, other access roads to Adegbayi and Ajia are equally not motorable.
However, hope is not lost because we have a governor who knows where the shoe pinches the people of Oyo State. There is virtually no issue that the attention of the governor is called to for consideration and action that is left ignored. This has been the hallmark of the administration of His Excellency that earned him a second term in government.
I, therefore, hope that the governor will look into this concern with a view to doing something in order to alleviate the suffering of the motorists plying this uncompleted road.
