In a continued effort to curb crude oil theft and economic sabotage, personnel of the Nigerian Navy’s Forward Operating Base (FOB), Escravos, have deactivated three illegal refining sites in Obodo Omadinho, in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State.

The operation, conducted on 10 March 2025, was part of the ongoing Operation Delta Sanity II and was based on credible intelligence.

The illegal sites contained approximately 3,700 litres of stolen crude oil and 1,900 litres of illegally refined Automotive Gas Oil (AGO).

These were stored in three ovens, seven dugout pits, and 31 polythene sacks.

According to the Nigerian Navy, the successful raid underscores the commitment of FOB Escravos to implementing the Strategic Directives of the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla (Admiralty Medal).

These directives prioritise eradicating illegal activities within Nigeria’s maritime domain.

The Nigerian Navy reaffirmed its dedication to safeguarding the nation’s oil and gas resources, ensuring a secure environment for legitimate economic activities.
