As Africa continues to position itself as a key player in the global economy, a leading light in Customer Success, Gloria Michael, has expressed the readiness of the continent’s young workforce to seize emerging opportunities in the field.
To bridge the gap between talent and opportunity, she has announced the launch of a groundbreaking mentorship program this March, connecting over 1,000 ambitious young Africans with experienced Customer Success Managers (CSMs) from around the world.
The name of the mentorship programme is “Elevate Your CS Mentorship Programme”
Gloria Michael who is the visionary behind the initiative emphasised the increasing demand for skilled Customer Success professionals, noting that businesses are shifting from traditional customer service to a more strategic approach focused on retention, upselling, and business expansion.
“Africa is ready. The question is, are we prepared to seize the opportunities?” she stated, stressing the importance of equipping young professionals with the skills, mindset, and network needed to thrive in this evolving industry.
She highlighted the urgency of the initiative, citing the global shift in talent acquisition as companies look beyond borders for top customer success professionals.
With over 1,000 mentees expected to participate, she described the programme as one of the largest of its kind in Africa.
She also underscored the necessity of adopting a new mindset as the industry moves from reactive customer support to proactive engagement strategies.
According to her, this initiative is more than just a programme—it is a movement to harness Africa’s potential, empower its youth, and redefine the continent’s role in the global economy.
She encouraged young Africans aspiring to break into the tech space to take advantage of this golden opportunity, as the future belongs to those who are prepared.
