Nigerian youths have received a vital message urging them to embrace values such as integrity, diligence, perseverance, and other virtues as their guiding principles in their pursuit of success.
This counsel came from ECOWAS Youth Ambassador, Babatunde Adeyemo, who was honored with the 2023 Emerald Humanitarian Service Award by the Rotary Club of Oluomo Sunrise in Abeokuta. During the event, Comrade Olamide Lawal, the former Special Assistant to Governor Dapo Abiodun on Youths Affairs, was also inaugurated as the club’s president.
Adeyemo reaffirmed his commitment to supporting and motivating young individuals engaged in commendable initiatives aimed at fostering societal and humanitarian progress.
As the CEO of Pelican Valley Nigeria Limited, Adeyemo pledged to sustain this support through the Oko Opo Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting widows, their dependents, and other vulnerable members of society.
Adeyemo emphasised, “It is entirely possible for Nigerian youth to achieve success in any noble pursuit within the country without compromising their integrity or resorting to shortcuts and irregularities.”
He appealed to the youth, encouraging them to make integrity, patience, perseverance, diligence, and trustworthiness their constant companions, particularly if they aspire to excel in business and other worthwhile endeavours.
Adeyemo also expressed his appreciation to the Rotary Club and congratulated the newly installed president on receiving the award. He promised to support and encourage the club in any of its projects aimed at uplifting society and humanity.
