90,000 candidates jostle for Unilorin 2017/2018 admission

OVER 90,000 candidates are seeking admission into the University of Ilorin for the 2017-2018 academic sessions.

Speaking in Ilorin on Sunday, the Deputy Director, Information, Office of the Vice Chancellor of the University, Mr Kunle Akogun, however, said that out of the candidates, who would pass through the University’s screening, over 11,000 would be admitted into different courses of the University, based on the institution’s carrying capacity.

The Spokesman of the University also said that the administration of the out-going Vice Chancellor, Professor Abdulganiyu Ambali, expanded academic programmes of the University by adding three faculties to make the number of the institution’s faculties to 15.

According to him, the University is known for its stable academic calendar, making the institution, the most sought-after university in the country, assuring that the administration of the Vice Chancellor-designate would continue uphold the virtue and standards of the University.

Mr Kunle-Akogun also noted that the University witnessed rapid physical infrastructural development, improved research and teaching activities and stable power supply on the campus to facilitate academic activities on campus.

The Deputy Director Information added the University now has an automated digital library, the first of its kind in the country, where books and other reading materials could be accessed all over the country.
