A 25-year-old woman suspected to be a major supplier of narcotics has been arrested by operatives of the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC).
The suspect was reportedly arrested while trying to distribute the contents of a sack suspected to be Indian hemp to criminals around Ise area in Ibeju-Lekki.
Chairman of LNSC, DIG Israel Ajao (retd) while confirming the arrest of the suspect to Tribune Online said the agency was investigating other members of the drug cartel in the area.

DIG Ajao also said the agency is bothered by the rising cases of crimes around the coastal areas of the Free Trade Zone in Lekki and blamed the upsurge in crimes on narcotics.
The retired police officer said: “The most important aspect of our responsibility as an agency is to solicit information from members of the public and process such.
“The woman was arrested through intelligence-gathering by our men who had been monitoring her activities for a while.
“She was on her way to distribute a full sack of Indian hemp to criminals in the area when she was intercepted. She has confessed to the crime.
“She has also mentioned one of her sponsors and we are working on that too. She will be transferred to the state police command for further interrogations.
“The Free Trade Zone area, especially the coastal communities, has been giving the agency serious concern going by the criminal activities going on there.”
