2025 Hajj: Kano board fixes date to commence airlifting pilgrims to Saudi

The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has set the 13th of May, 2025, as the date to commence the airlift of the state’s pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for the 2025 Hajj.

This was confirmed in a statement issued by the board’s spokesman, Sulaiman Dederi. The Director General of the board, Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, announced that the airlift operations would begin on the 13th of May.

The statement noted that the DG made the announcement on Saturday during a visit to the Hajj Induction Course held at the Ungogo and Bichi Local Government Centers, as part of the preparations for the 2025 Hajj exercise.

Alhaji Danbappa also revealed that, according to the schedule released by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Kano State would inaugurate the first flight to Saudi Arabia with Max Air on the 13th of May, 2025.

He added that the board had completed all necessary arrangements well ahead of time to ensure that everything was in place for the smooth commencement of the Hajj operations.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Alhaji Yusif Lawan, urged intending pilgrims to regularly attend the Hajj Induction Courses for their own benefit.

Alhaji Lawan also advised the pilgrims to strictly adhere to the rules and regulations set by both the Nigerian and Saudi Arabian authorities during the pilgrimage.
