Nigerian Breweries, the makers of Goldberg Lager beer have announced its participation in the prestigious 2024 Olojo Festival, currently taking place at the Ooni of Ife’s palace in Ile-Ife, Osun State.
The revered festival is a powerful celebration of heritage, cultural pride, and the origins of creation according to Yoruba mythology.
According to them, Goldberg’s sponsorship of the Olojo Festival aligns seamlessly with the ongoing ‘Oyato’ campaign, emphasising the brand’s ‘Made Different’ identity.
“This campaign celebrates the fresh expression of culture and tradition, ensuring its relevance across generations. By supporting the festival, Goldberg reaffirms its commitment to honoring tradition while embracing the dynamic evolution of Yoruba culture. The Oyato campaign’s focus on uniqueness perfectly complements the essence of Olojo—celebrating the distinctiveness and timelessness of Yoruba customs.
“As one of the most significant cultural events in South-West Nigeria, the Olojo Festival holds a sacred place in the hearts of the people. The highlight of the festival is when the Ooni of Ife, the spiritual custodian of the Yoruba race, adorns the revered ‘Aare’ crown—a rare and symbolic act that strengthens the connection between the gods, ancestors, and the Yoruba people. This historic moment is accompanied by a vibrant display of traditional dances, music, and artistic performances”, it’s official statement read.
Speaking on Goldberg’s involvement, Senior Brand Manager, Goldberg Lager Beer, Kunle Aroyehun, emphasised the brand’s deep-rooted commitment to celebrating the festival. “Goldberg’s participation in the Olojo Festival reflects our dedication to celebrating the beauty of our heritage and supporting initiatives that resonate with the values of our consumers,” he said. “This year’s Olojo Festival is especially meaningful as it provides an opportunity to showcase the beauty, pride, and uniqueness of our culture.
