A presidential aspirant on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and present governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, has said that his choice as standard part flag bearer for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general election would stabilize the delicate balance the nation has been placed by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
He pointed out that his role in the implementation of the doctrine of necessity that brought President Goodluck Jonathan as acting President while former President Umaru Yar’ Adua was sick was because he believed in Nigeria.
He noted that he drafted the motion that called for the ‘doctrine of necessity’ in the house and championed the cause as the closest political figure of the Northwest from where Yar Adua came from.
The aspirant said this at the meeting with leaders of the party who were principal officers of the legislature in their respective states on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
He said the 2023 general election was going to be an outcome of a strategic decision based on a number of factors namely, Age, demography and national spread and unity.
He said he satisfied all these criteria especially as the party was not going to hold a primary that would produce a zonal presidential candidate but one whose pedigree was national and met the age requirement of the Nigerian people.
