THE Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN), has said it will continue to ensure equity and fairness for Women in Advertising (WIA), and celebrate their contributions to the growth of the sector.
In its statement, marking this year’s edition of the International Women’s Day, held recently, the Publicity Secretary, AAAN, Mrs Tope Jemerigbe, expressed the body’s committed to gender equity, development, and celebration of achievements of women in the industry.
She assured of the association’s readiness to seek ways of nurturing, developing, recognizing and celebrating women that continue to push the limits and change the narratives of advertising in the country.
“As we celebrate International Women’s Day, we will continue to embrace and champion equity for the women within our Industry,” she stated.
The Director, AAAN, Mrs Kemi Fabusoro, described the 2023 edition of the IWD theme: ‘Embracing Equity’, as deep and powerful, ‘since it applies to everyone, irrespective of their gender.
“It’s all about recognising individual needs, and the necessary resources required to make the person successful and we will challenge our members to make this a reality,” she said.
The Chairman, WIA, Mrs. Biodun Adefila, in a statement, explained that the vision of the association is to transform female practitioners into outstanding leaders, well-equipped to contribute broadly to their firm’s success, and provide mentoring and professional guidance.
