Muraina made the call on Monday in a release made available to the Tribune Online, even as he maintained that he had at no time appointed any local coordinator for local government chapter of the party, as being rumoured, declaring that his mandate was only to ensure the genuine reconciliation of all aggrieved members.
“There is an unsubstantiated rumour going on that I have appointed coordinators for PDP in local governments in the state. This is far from the truth. I have no mandate to do such. I am very well focused on my mandate which is to ensure sincere and genuine reconciliation among our party members in the state and on this we are making tremendous progress.
“I have also been inundated with calls informing me that some persons are planning to package tissues of lies to petition our party headquarters on my appointment. The PDP as a party has moved to the next level. The days of blackmail, rumour mongering and backsliding are gone for good,” he said
Muraina, who is a former chairman, Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream), while assuring that his leadership would allow rumour mongering or blackmail to cause the downfall of the party as it had done in recent past, enjoined all party members to rise up to work for the party and give their support to receive all former leaders and teeming supporters as well as new members to the party.
He said this was to ensure that the PDP become a stronger platform that would be difficult for other parties to beat in 2019.
“In this time of hunger, hardship and general frustration, let us come together without bitterness or hatred and ignore frivolous issues but involve ourselves in constructive engagement to bring back to Nigeria, a purposeful government of peace and prosperity in a land flowing with milk and honey. The cooperation of all of us as members of PDP family is key,” he affirm.
