THE Director-General, National Youths Service Corps (NYSC), Major General Suleiman Kazaure has warned corps members serving in the state to be neutral and non-partisan in the forthcoming elections.
He stated this during his sensitisation visit to corps members with respect to the elections at Mapo Hall, Ibadan, Oyo State.
According to him, any corps member who engages in any form of election malpractice will be prosecuted.
“Do not accept any form of gift items from politicians or strangers, be it food or money. Be punctual, always have your identity cards on you at all times and always study your environment.
“Make sure your phones are well charged and recharged, ensure you have the numbers of your Divisional Police Officers and Local Government Inspectors. Your identity cards must always be on you too.”

He, however, noted that participation is not compulsory for those who are not interested.
“You will be trained by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials and the best will be selected for the exercise.

A corps member, Ajiboye Okoye, who spoke on behalf of others promised not to disappoint the Director-General and the NYSC management at large.
“We will abide by the rules and regulations and we promise that we will be good ambassadors of NYSC and our fatherland.”
