THE Allied Peoples Movement (APM), on Thursday, officially adopt President Muhammadu Buhari, as its presidential candidate in the February 16, 2019 election.
This was said by the party’s national chairman, Yusuf Mamman Dantalle, at the flag-off of APM campaign in Ogun State and the official presentation of its governorship flagbearer, Hon Abdulkabir Adekunle Akinlade, at a ceremony held in Abeokuta.
Dantalle described APM as a party to beat in 2019 and later handed over Buhari’s party’s flag to Akinlade for onward delivery to Mr President.
The governorship candidate described their journey from the All Progressives Congress to APM as tortuous one because of alleged injustice meted on them as a result of the outcome of the APC’s primaries.

He said his administration would build on the structures already established by the incumbent government under the leadership of Governor Ibikunle Amosun.
Akinlade said some elements from within and outside in the state were hell bent in truncating the wheel of progress built by the present administration.
“With APM, we shall continue the good works of Amosun. We will develop the state with all the resources available at our disposal. As a believer, our aim is to sustain the achievements of the past seven and a half years. Even in the face of provocation, our march to victory is assured,” Akinlade added.
He described himself as the most qualified candidate for the exalted position having served in the first term of Amosun’s government.
