AMIDST crisis bedeviling the health sector, the Joint Health Sector Union (JOHESU), on Wednesday, lamented the discrimination between health workers and resident doctors.
It also urged the Federal Government to respect all agreements it had with the union.
JOHESU chairman, University of Abuja Teaching Hospital (UATH) chapter, Stephen Oricha, in a petition made available to the Nigerian Tribune, in Abuja, pointed out that both health officials passed through the university, yet prominence was given to one group without considering the other.

He blamed successive administrations for refusing to admit the fact that resident doctors could not solely provide needed medical services but with support from the health workers.

He listed the purported low level workers to include pharmacists, nurses, physiotherapists, medical laboratory scientists, health information officers, optometrists, nutritionists/dieticians, administrative and finance officers, dental therapists/technologists and every other worker except medical doctors.
