Youth unemployment

youthsIn recent times, people tend to believe that self-employment is a great value being added to one’s life. And in Nigeria today, we see youths who have different potentials but do not put these abilities into practise.

Sometimes ago, I read an opinion online where someone said instead of youths complaining that government is not creating employment opportunities for them, why can’t they learn how to create employment and contribute their own quota  to the society?

From the above statement, it is obvious that it is not possible for government to provide employment opportunities for all the youths in the country, though it is one of the responsibilities of the government.

Today, there are examples of successful people who, through their ideas, have been a great influence in the society. People like Aliko Dangote, who is one of the richest men in Africa, has been a tremendous blessing to this continent, through his products and services and wherever he is, his work speaks for him.

Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook, was determined to be a blessing to the society even at his youthful age. Now, facebook has been a common media where people can post news, share pictures and even connect with loved ones all over the world.

I believe that so many people in the society are in need of what you want to offer as a business man or woman. For those that are still unemployed, there are many golden gates, that is, job opportunities that are in-built in us to take our society to greater heights.

It is left for us to discover what we can give to the society as younger ones, so that our businesses could stand out.

We must be creative enough to see how old things can be done in a new way which makes our brands different from others. For some, it may be fashion designing, hairdressing, tailoring or bakery.

All these depend on our creativity which brings people to patronize us in order to earn a living.

However, I admonish my fellow youths to know that even without government providing job opportunities for us, we should strive to become employers of labour.
