Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, has said the Senate panel set up to see to xenophobic attacks would soon leave for South Africa.
Ekweremadu, speaking in Ibadan, Oyo state capital on Friday, stated that the Senate delegation, which he heads, would meet with members of the South Africa parliament.
He noted, the delegation was already making diplomatic efforts to reach out to the South Africa parliament.
He added that the move is in line with the Senate’s resolve to use diplomatic relations to arrest the xenophobic tide in South Africa.
Other members of the delegation to South Africa are: Senate leader, Senator Ahmad Lawan; Senate Chief Whip, Senator Olusola Adeyeye; Senator Shehu Sani; Senator Magnus Abe and Senator Stella Oduah.
