Mary Etta is a Nollywood actress, make-up artist and an undergraduate at Lead City University, Ibadan, Oyo State. In this interview with TAYO GESINDE, she speaks about why she had to put her acting career on hold, her passion for make-up artistry and how to achieve a perfect look when going for an outing.
Why have we not been seeing you in movies these days?
Well, my acting career has been put on hold till after school. I had to turn down jobs because of the locations I was invited to were not in Ibadan where my school is. Most of the jobs I get invited for requires that I travel to places like Abuja and Port Harcourt. I have to decline because it will really affect my studies, but I can’t wait to finish here in Lead City University this year, so I can be in business mode full time.

With the right amount of confidence, any look is beautiful.

What advice do you have for Nigerian youths?
My advice to young people going into the make-up industry is to have confidence in their work and ability. Trust your abilities and believe in yourself. Yes, it is true that make-up artists are everywhere now. Most people who ventured into the industry have given up, but when you believe in yourself, no one can frustrate you, just believe that you are the best and know your selling point. Always try to make your work unique in your own special way, that is the key.
