I was recently treated by a Nurse who gave me some medications including Vitamin C which she said is an antibiotic. Kindly let me know what is an antibiotic? Is Vitamin C an antibiotic?

Vitamin C is not an antibiotic. As its name suggests, it is a Vitamin. An antibiotic is a type of antimicrobial substance active against bacteria. It is the most important type of antibacterial agent for fighting bacterial infections, and antibiotic medications are widely used in the treatment and prevention of such infections. They may either kill or inhibit the growth of bacteria. In order to get the best results, antibiotics must be prepared by a competent health worker such as a registered Nurse, Pharmacist or Doctor.
